INTRODUCTION

SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN is a game of all out snowboard racing and free riding. Whether racing the clock, or proving your ability in the trick game, it will take a high degree of skill and finesse to achieve high standing on the scoreboards.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN requires:
  • Internet Explorer v.4.0 + OR Netscape v.4.0 +
  • a 3D accelerated video card with at least 2 MB of video RAM (4 MB of RAM recommended)
  • Windows 95 or above
  • 32 MB of system RAM (48 MB recommended)
  • Direct-X 5 or above
  • If your computer does not meet these requirements, you should receive a message in SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN letting you know that your system setup is insufficient.

GETTING STARTED

When you first run SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN, you'll be prompted for an initial detail setting. The detail setting determines how much media to load to run SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN, as well as what quality this media will be. These options may be changed at any time during game play. The initial options are as follows:

HIGH : All media, sound effects, music, and special effects will be loaded.

MEDIUM : All media, sound effects, music, will be loaded, but graphics will be lower in detail, and there will be fewer special effects.

LOW : All media and sound effects will be loaded. Graphics will be highly compressed, music will not be loaded, and no special effects will be used.

BARE : Only the lowest detail graphics will be loaded. No sound, music, or special effects will be used.

After selecting an initial option, SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN will begin to stream in the media, and will present you with a title screen when the download is complete.

SELECTING A BOARD

This screen allows you to customize your character by selecting different boards and riders independently.

TIMED GAME

This is a race against the clock. At the beginning of the race, you will see the words "Ready", "Set", and "Go". The race begins. You must make it to the checkpoint before the clock reaches zero, or the game will end. In order to qualify for a high score, you must make it from the top of the mountain to the bottom. Don't worry about performing tricks, speed is the goal with the timed game!

TRICK GAME

The trick game starts in the same manner as the timed game. You will see tokens on the slope. each token is worth 50 points, however, tokens will not allow you to achieve a high score. You must perform tricks in the air in order to score major points. There are five tricks. More difficult tricks take longer to perform:

1. Nose Grab ( 200 Points)

2. Tail Grab (500 Points)

3. Method (1000)

4. Japan Air (2000)

5. 360 stale fish (5000)

MAKING SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN RUN FASTER

SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN is designed to run well on a wide range of machines. Here are some suggestions to make sure SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN runs well on your computer.

  • Set your video mode to 16-bit color (right click on your desktop, select Properties, then Settings, then change colors to "Height Color/16bit").
  • If game play hitches or stutters, then turn Special FX and texture quality to low in the Detail Settings menu.
  • If your Video Card has 4MB of video RAM or less, use the medium or low quality texture settings. Larger and more detailed textures take more memory, and will cause the game to run slowly if your card has insufficient video RAM.
  • Some video cards only support hardware acceleration in full-screen mode. Voodoo1 and Voodoo2 cards are a common example. Make sure to play the game in full-screen mode to take advantage of hardware acceleration.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Do you have the WildTangent web driver installed on your system? SNOWBOARD MOUNTAIN requires it. If not, you can get it here.
  • Do you have a supported browser? The WildTangent web driver requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 4+ OR Netscape Navigator 4+.
  • Do you have DirectX? The web driver requires you to have Microsoft's DirectX installed on your system. Most systems already have DirectX installed, but if yours doesn't, you can get it here.
  • If you receive a message saying that no 3D Hardware Accelerator was found, but you believe you have one, there are several possible problems.
    • If you are using Windows NT 4, hardware acceleration is not supported by the OS.
    • Some video cards do not support hardware acceleration in higher color depths. Try changing your color depth to 16 bit color.
    • If your hardware accelerator is a secondary display device, it cannot be used. Your hardware accelerator must be your primary display device.
